Through the semester I realized that writing isn’t simple. In order to achieve a well written essay it needs to be organized, proofread and to have quotation sandwich. As well as including what others say. I do believe following these steps made my essays better and did well overall. I do still have to learn when to use a quote appropriately for the specific part of the paragraph. Also, for me to know to focus on one topic when providing details for my essay. I’m grateful that these books helped on the way and how clear it was to understand how an essay should be formatted. I never thought I would be reading a book on how an essay should be written but “They say, I say” by Cathy Birkenstein and Geralf Graff showed the importance in academic writing. This has been eye opening for me and definitely what I will be using in future writings.
